Michael Shenton has been writing humorous verse since his childhood. Hundreds of his poems have appeared in national newspapers and magazines.

He has also enjoyed huge success writing humorous rhyming tiebreakers for consumer competitions, an activity that has netted him countless prizes including seven cars.

His first novel, a story of deception and murder in the competitions world, won the Peter Pook Humorous Novel Contest.

His second, another humorous story, reached the shortlist for the CWAs Debut Dagger award.
